Candy Sales

Sam’s Club/Costco Candy Sales – I select products that can be sold for $1, provide the largest count (M&M’s have 48 bags in a box), and provide the biggest bang for the buck (no small looking candies).  Below I overestimated the cost since many states have different costs and taxes for each box from Sam’s Club/Costco and listed how many items are in each box.

M&M’s (48 Count) – Cost $27.00/Profit $21.00
Twix (36 Count) – Cost $20.00/Profit $16.00
Kit Kat (36 Count) – Cost $21.00/Profit $15.00
Snickers (72 Count) – Cost $35.00/Profit $37.00
Mixed Pack (36 Count) – Cost $17.00/Profit $19.00 (Variety but tough to sell Hersey bars)
Air Heads Xtremes (18 Count) – Cost $9.00/Profit $9.00

Other items I recommend selling that have a decent margin but have a large quantity to sell are Slim Jim’s and Airheads.  They move like crazy and I sell a box every 2-3 days.

Slim Jim’s (100 Count – 25 cents) – Cost $17.00/Profit $8.00
Air Heads (90 Count – 25 cents) – Cost $10.00/Profit $12.50

Now I know what all of you teachers are saying right now, "We can't sell those items in school!"  I have students sell them outside of school and in our store after school hours.  Slight loophole but dependent of course on your Principal.

See my next blog on how to teach students to sell candies and any other items you are promoting!  Good luck fundraising!
